Dr. Elijah H. Hankerson III has prepared himself to serve the Lord’s people through acquiring the B.A. (Evangel University, of the Assemblies of God), M.A. (Assemblies of God Theological Seminary) and the D.D. (Academy of Theology). He also founded the Institute of Ministerial Excellence and Training. He has been mentored under four great leaders: Dr. Elijah H. Hankerson I, Bishop T. L. Westbrook, the late Bishop E. Harris Moore and Bishop R. J. Ward.
He has 18 years of pastoral experience and has been in the ministry for 24 years. He is the Senior Pastor and founder of the Life Center International C.O.G.I.C. of Saint Louis, MO, which has 500 members on roll. Prior to this he pastored the Christ Temple C.O.G.I.C. and later the Timmons Temple C.O.G.I.C., both of Springfield, MO. While serving Timmons Temple, Dr. Hankerson served on the Sherman Avenue Area Project Committee, the Spiritual Life Committee of Evangel University and also founded the Ann Hankerson Community Development Center.
Dr. Hankerson is active in the Church Of God In Christ. He formerly served in the position of Special Assistant to the Bishop and Vice Chairman of District Superintendents and now serves on the board of directors and as 4th Administrative Assistant. He also serves on the Jurisdictional Ordination Board, Grievance Committee, Program Committee and is Chairman of the Public Relations Department for Missouri Eastern First Jurisdiction. He has preached in many Holy Convocations of various jurisdictions; including having the honor of preaching “Official Day” for Bishop R. J. Ward on two occasions.
He has also served the Church Of God In Christ nationally as: Coordinator of the 40 day consecration, preceding the International Holy Convocation; a founding Executive Board member of the Urban Initiative Group, Inc. (which gave him the honor of speaking to thousands of men on Men’s Day of the International Holy Convocation in Memphis, TN); member of the Tri-Jurisdictional Liaison Committee; Point Person for the Soul Winning Ministry; member of the Constitution Committee of the General Assembly and Deputy to the Commissioner of Technology and Media. He has served on the election campaign of numerous national officers. Dr. Hankerson has also had the distinct honor of preaching for Presiding Bishop Charles E. Blake, Sr., at the world renowned West Angeles Church of God in Christ of Los Angeles, CA on two occasions; and he also preached as a keynote speaker in the 104th International Holy Convocation.
A strong advocate for community service, Dr. Hankerson serves as the 2nd Vice President of the Saint Louis Metropolitan Clergy Coalition and is a “Life Member” of the NAACP. He has served as a coordinator of the monthly clergy meeting with the mayor of Saint Louis, participant of the monthly meeting with the superintendent of St. Louis Public Schools and is a member of the distinguished Charmaine Chapman Society. He has also had the privilege of giving the keynote address, for the citywide Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday celebrations, for both the cities of Springfield, Missouri and Saint Louis, Missouri; he has been named an “Honorary Chair” of the annual Saint Louis celebration.
Dr. Hankerson has received numerous awards and honors: including a resolution from the Missouri State Senate, offered by (former state senator) Congressman William Lacy Clay, Jr. and a resolution from the Board of Alderman of the city of Saint Louis. He has also had the privilege of serving in the motorcade for President Barack Obama.
Dr. Hankerson believes in the oneness of the body of Christ, enabling him to serve with ministries of all denominations: staff member, Joyce Meyer Ministries; “12 priests,” Juanita Bynum Ministries/Midwest Regional Prayer Revival; Co-Chair, Gateway Call/Donnie McClurkin Ministries, board member Anointed Music Ministries and executive board member, Gateway Kingdom Ministries.
Believing in the impact of media ministry, Dr. Hankerson initiated the Life Center Radio Program and the Keys for Life Television Program. He also writes a monthly column in Sparkman Magazine, entitled “Ask the Doctor,” and has been a guest on the Trinity Broadcasting Network.
Dr. Hankerson has travelled extensively, including: 49 states, and has been blessed to see 9 countries. He has preached the Gospel in Jerusalem, Israel; and was later sent to Israel again by the American Israel Education Foundation for study and research.
The love and inspiration of Dr. Hankerson’s life is his lovely wife, Evangelist Rachel L. Hankerson and their three children: Elijah IV, Raquel and Matthew, who are 5th generation members of the Church Of God In Christ.

Auxiliary Bishop Jack Vaughn Speaker for Tonight
The second night of the EMFJ Sunday School Summit is Honoring our own Field Representative Jean Gardner. Our workshop facilitator for tonight will be District Missionary Veronica O'Neal.
And our featured Speaker will be Auxiliary Bishop Jack Vaughn.
Bishop Jack C. Vaughn is the Senior Pastor of Evangelistic Center International Ministries, Kansas City, Kansas. He has worked in ministry from the age of 11 and accepted the call to ministry at the age of 17. In the early 1980s, God released him from secular service as an employee of IBM Corporation into full-time ministry. He served as Co-Pastor to the late Supt. Willie C. “Dad” Vaughn, Jr., Bishop Vaughn’s father and founder along with Mother Legusta Vaughn of Evangelistic Center. In January, 1999 the "Torch Was Passed" from father to son and Bishop Vaughn was installed as Senior Pastor. Under Bishop Vaughn’s leadership, the Church is consistently propelling forward as it receives the anointed Word of God.
Bishop Vaughn Studied Education at Kansas City Kansas Community College and Park University. He also acquired pastoral training at The Jack Hayford School of Pastoral Nurture. He is a motivational speaker conducting seminars and workshops on a national and international level. Through publications, television and radio Bishop Vaughn is able to witness to thousands beyond his Church each week.
He founded and was elected Presiding Bishop of Hope International Ministries (H.I.M.). This organization was established to cover, mentor and train pastors and their church leaders. Under his guidance, H.I.M. has grown into a worldwide organization with member churches from many different countries and denominations. Through his ministry and community involvement, many doors have opened in the United States, Portugal, Nigeria and St. Thomas U.S. Virgin Islands.
God has given Bishop Vaughn an anointing to empower the body of Christ to become holistically successful in all areas of their lives with a specific emphasis on their spiritual walk. He is a compassionate, and a devoted leader; not only in the church, but also in the community and beyond.
Bishop Vaughn's personal mission is to help the Body of Christ:
Bishop Vaughn's vision is to build the Cathedral of Hope Sanctuary and a complex of facilities, programs and services to meet the needs of the church and community. In addition to the Cathedral, the campus will include a Christian school, senior citizen housing, a youth center complete with coffee shop and a gymnasium, a conference center, banquet halls, and a state-of-the-art training facility.
While his goal is to reach the masses, Bishop Vaughn continually endeavors to reach and impact one soul at a time by ushering them into the Kingdom of God, helping them to bear their burdens, and showing them the pathway to eternal life through Christ Jesus. Bishop Vaughn is an awesome Man of God who has tremendous vision, loves people and is truly a shepherd of the flock assigned to him.
Bishop Vaughn is the husband of Lady Carolyn J. McNeely-Vaughn and they are celebrating over thirty-five years of marriage. They have three sons; Apostle J. Cortez Vaughn II, who is the Senior Pastor of Faith City KC, Julian Vaughn and Justin Vaughn who both continue to work with their father in the ministry at Evangelistic Center.
